Johnson Center Life Coach
In-School Life Coaching is a Cognitive Behavioral program operated by New Justice Services through the Johnson Center of the Syracuse City School District. The Life Coach at the Johnson Center provides young people with support and guidance in making their life decisions regarding education, employment opportunities and personal choices. The goal of the program is to stabilize the students’ focus on their education so that they maintain their attendance and avoid disciplinary interventions while in the building.
This program is based upon the service delivery philosophy that these young people need to see positive representatives from their own community present in their schools who can reinforce positive life direction and decision making.
This program provides the students with a combination of educational programming on topics such as Conflict Resolution, Decision Making, Setting Priorities and Self-Identity as well as one on one discussion on managing conflicts within their personal and educational life.
